KVC Kids Classic JE Dunn Participants

On September 19, 2025, golfers and community supporters from across Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri gathered at Ashland Golf Club for the 13th Annual KVC Kids Classic Golf Tournament for a day of golf, fun and connection in support of our vital work in the community.

What began as a small 9-hole tournament with fewer than a dozen teams has grown into a major event featuring 32 four-person teams, including players who traveled from surrounding states to participate. It’s all in the spirit of KVC’s mission: enriching and enhancing the lives of youth, individuals and families.

Find out what made this year’s event so special and why you should join us next year. Read on for highlights from the 2025 KVC Kids Classic Golf Tournament.

More Than Just a Day on the Fairway: Teeing Up for a Cause

Because this event has been a highlight for KVC supporters for 13 years, there are always plenty of returning teams excited to come back.

“It really is the teams and sponsors that continue to return year after year who make this event what it is,” shares Lauren Parks, KVC Nebraska Foster Care Supervisor and Co-Chair of the KVC Kids Classic.

Lauren also emphasizes the joy she feels whenever new participants get involved and experience the fun firsthand. Many leave already excited to come back next year.

Despite the rain the day before, our sponsors and players were determined to make it happen, rain or shine. Fortunately, the skies cleared, and it was a beautiful day from start to finish.

Breakfast Sponsored by Hy-Vee

The community spirit begins long before players tee up. Participants enjoyed a continental breakfast courtesy of Hy-Vee, mingled with fellow golfers and KVC staff and bought raffle tickets.

“It’s a lot about connection,” says Parks, a value we hold close at KVC Nebraska.

The morning kicked off on a high note with DJ Cosmo, who has kept the energy up and music flowing for the past three years.

A $10,000 Hole in One

KVC Kids ClassicThis year brought a new level of excitement with the introduction of a $10,000 hole-in-one prize made possible through sponsor support.

While no one scored an ace this year, we hope to renew this grand prize next year for our competitive-hearted players. Be sure to follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss the announcement for the 2026 tournament.

Lunch Sponsored by Goodcents

After the tournament wrapped, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for pin prizes, special awards, raffle drawings and a delicious lunch provided by our lunch sponsor Goodcents, who has proudly sponsored this meal for three consecutive years.

The support of our meal sponsors is invaluable. It allows us to focus more of our fundraising efforts directly on helping children, individuals and families.

A Thank You to Our Sponsors

KVC Kids Classic SponsorsThe KVC Kids Classic would not be possible without the generosity of our incredible sponsors.

“Our sponsors know that the work KVC Nebraska does is high quality and that we offer a variety of impactful services that reach many individuals across our communities,” shares Parks.

We especially want to recognize our supporting sponsor, Brown & Brown, whose partnership was instrumental in making this year’s event possible and strengthening our efforts across all KVC Nebraska’s programs.

So how do donations make a difference for the youth, individuals and families we serve across Nebraska? Here’s a closer look at the impact of your support and the programs it helps sustain.

Strengthening Families and Communities Across Nebraska

Thanks to the support of sponsors and donors, KVC Nebraska continues to provide programs and services that enrich the lives of youth, individuals and families across the state.

Recently, we hosted a free summer event where families enjoyed outdoor activities and shared dinner together, creating space for connection and support. Events like these are made possible in part by funds raised through the KVC Kids Classic and help bring our mission to life.

KVC Nebraska is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Nebraska youth, individuals and families. We offer a broad continuum of care, including disability services (shared living), foster care, educational success research, intensive in-home support, outpatient therapy, substance use treatment and evaluations. We serve more than 30 counties across Nebraska and accept referrals from the Department of Health and Human Services, Juvenile Probation and families. Our skilled specialists and therapists work to strengthen families and build healthier communities across the state.

The generosity shown through events like the KVC Kids Classic helps ensure these essential programs continue to strengthen Nebraska communities and change lives every day.

Meeting Additional Needs

Individuals and families supported by KVC often have additional or unexpected needs. Because of our generous donors, we’re able to provide practical assistance such as beds, school supplies, event fees or after-school programs, computers for youth transitioning to independence and help covering household expenses when needed.

This flexibility allows KVC Nebraska to respond to real needs in real time, all thanks to KVC supporters who show up and make a difference.
