Celebrating Our Administrative Professionals and Their Impact on the Community

Today is National Administrative Professionals Day, and we’d like to take this time to recognize three amazing staff members who play important roles in impacting all aspects of our organization. Whether they are providing support to other staff members, working directly with the children, clients or the families we serve, these special employees represent teamwork and build a culture of compassion and positivity. Our senior leadership team has even coined the terms “KVC Gold” and “The Jackie’s of all Trades” when referring to our Administrative Assistants, which drives home the impact they have had on the organization.

Meet our Administrative Team!

Maggie Dworak, Administrative Assistant in Omaha

Maggie and her daughter.

This September, Maggie will celebrate 9 years with the KVC team! Over these years, the two things she has grown to love most about KVC is the flexibility and the community outreach. The flexibility has allowed her to be the parent she wants and needs to be to her 13-year-old daughter. She has never had to miss a school program, sporting event or doctor appointment and believes KVC lives its tagline, People Matter, for not only its clients but also its employees. The community outreach aspect allows her to work directly with the families we serve and have those meaningful interactions that she doesn’t get in her traditional job duties.

“I get the privilege of working with some of the most intelligent, innovative, caring, hardworking and dedicated people in the Health and Human Services field. Because of that, I have gained a wealth of knowledge regarding child welfare as well as formed some very strong professional partnerships and personal friendships.” — Maggie Dworak

Lisa Main, Administrative Assistant in Omaha

Lisa Main

Lisa has been with KVC for two and a half years and finds it very rewarding that she gets to help people in need. Whether she’s providing hands-on support with kids in foster care, driving clients to appointments or helping out in the office, she loves making a difference in people’s days by doing things that help in a big way. One of her most memorable experiences with KVC is the relationship she has formed with one of the kids in our care. Whenever he is at our office, she comforts him, gets him food and spends time with him. She feels lucky to be someone that has made an impact on his life.

“I came from the corporate world and I always wanted to do something to help the Nebraska community. I love kids and felt I could really do something to help them in some way. I had no idea how working at KVC would change my life and be so rewarding at the same time.”

Taylor Steiner, Administrative Assistant in Lincoln

Taylor Steiner

Taylor started with KVC in February, and we’re thrilled to have her on our team! She joined our team because she wanted to remain working in a field that is centered around helping others, whether that means working directly with children and families or supporting the staff who does. Taylor has enjoyed her time with KVC and loves that it’s an organization where everyone cares about each other and is willing to do whatever they can to help out. In her free time, she watches crime shows, spends time with her family and does couponing.

“I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of something bigger than myself. In just the few short months I’ve worked here, I’ve already built great relationships with my coworkers and have done work that makes me proud.”
