Nebraska Community Comes Together to Spread Holiday Joy

The holidays are a special time for families to come together, show how thankful they are for each other, and create new memories. But for children and teens in foster care and individuals with developmental disabilities who are living in extended family homes away from their biological families, it can be more difficult to find joy during the holiday season.

KVC foster parents and extended family homes providers give these youth and adults safety, love, and support, but providing extras such as gifts during the holidays can be challenging.

Thanks to our generous KVC Holiday Heroes, the individuals and families we serve were reminded of just how special they are!

Holiday Heroes are individuals, families, and organizations who donate money, clothing, toys, games, gift cards, and much more as holiday gifts for those we serve. These gifts mean the world to children and adults missing their families over the holidays and help support the families caring for these individuals.

Our 2018 Holiday Heroes provided gifts for more than 370 Nebraska children and teens in foster care, clients in extended family homes, and youth receiving in-home services.

Thank you to all of our 2018 Holiday Heroes!
