Generous Holiday Heroes Make The Season Merry for Youth in Foster Care
The holidays can be an unsure time for children and youth involved in the child welfare, juvenile justice system or living away from their family. They may wonder if they will receive any gifts or be able to celebrate the season. Foster homes and extended family homes provide these children, youth, and adults with safety, love, and support, but providing extras such as gifts during the holidays can be challenging for some families.
This year, children and youth served by KVC Nebraska enjoyed a happy holiday season because of generous donors, or Holiday Heroes. These individuals and organizations donated gifts to over 330 Nebraska children and teens in foster care, extended family homes and youth receiving in-home services who live in Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding areas. The incredible heroes donated money, clothing, toys, games, gift cards and more to make the holidays special for these youth and the families caring for them.
