Calling all Holiday Heroes! Are you looking to give back this season or donate gifts in Nebraska? You can join our Holiday Hero program to put smiles on the faces of children in foster care. Since this time of year flies by, it’s a great time to start thinking of how you can make an impact by giving back.

Holiday Heroes donate holiday gifts for children who are in foster care due to abuse, neglect or other family challenges. Heroes come in all types; they can be individuals, churches, businesses and other organizations to donate clothing, toys, gift cards and other presents.

This holiday season, we need additional support in providing gifts for children ages 13 to 18. Teens are one of the largest age groups in Nebraska foster care. When you join the Holiday Heroes program, you can start by selecting who you’d like to gift to; choosing your preference of age, number of children and even gender.

Here’s a list of ideas of things that might be on a child’s wish list:

• Books
• DVD movies
• Games
• Toys
• Sports equipment (basketball, football, softball glove)
• Arts and crafts supplies

Being a Holiday Hero is one of the ways to give back to the community and children in foster care. These children are in care, due to no fault of their own and might not have gifts to open without your support.
