Do you have a success story you would like to share with others? KVC wants to hear from you! We are seeking real stories from children, youth, families and staff nationwide about reunification, foster care, adoption, in-home family services, behavioral/mental healthcare, residential psychiatric hospital care, and other services KVC provides. Submit your amazing story to KVC’s Summer Story Contest 2015.

A team of external volunteers and communications staff will review all submissions to find the most compelling stories in the categories below. Multiple stories will be selected to win a $50 Visa Gift Card!

Topics

Reunification: stories from/about birth parents who have or are currently working to overcome challenges and learn healthy skills in order to reunify with their children

Foster care: stories from/about foster parents who have helped a child grow and thrive, insights into making the decision to foster, working with birth parents towards achieving reunification, foster parenting tips

Adoption: stories from/about adoptive parents who have adopted children from foster care, the process to adopt from foster care, adoptions of teens, sibling groups or children with special needs

Behavioral/mental health: stories from/about children or youth who received treatment for depression, self-harm, mental illness, behavioral issues, etc. either at our psychiatric hospitals or through in-home therapy

You can submit as many stories as you have. The location and date of the story don’t matter, as long as it is a REAL story.

How to Submit to KVC’s Summer Story Contest 2015

To submit your story, simply visit www.kvc.org/stories and fill out the form. Enter as many details as you can and include photos if possible. Stories must be submitted by
