Nebraska has many children in foster care needing foster parents and forever homes. To help, Spike’s Beach Bar & Grill in Lincoln, Neb. hosted the first annual volleyball tournament fundraiser for KVC Nebraska on May 31, 2014. Seven teams, made up of at least six players each, participated in the event. It was a fun event that brought people together to increase awareness of the need for foster families. Participants were from other agencies, contractors, foster families, friends and family of staff, and other community groups. The money raised provided school supplies and other needed items for youth in foster care.
