5th Annual Kids Classic Golf Tournament Raises Money for Nebraska Children and Teens

Each year, KVC Nebraska brings together business leaders, donors and sponsors for a fun day of golfing at the KVC Nebraska Kids Classic Golf Tournament to raise fund for children and families in the child welfare system including foster parents and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect.

This year’s tournament took place on Thursday, September 15 and marked the 5th anniversary for the annual golf tournament at the Ashland Golf Course in Ashland, Neb. William Jefferey of Cornhusker Property Management and Sales was the title sponsor of this years event. Corporate sponsors included Lorrie McGill and 4imprint. See below for full list of sponsors. Thanks to our generous sponsors, vendors, golfers and volunteers, this year’s event raised $12,160!

A total of 29 four-person golfing teams enjoyed 18 holes of golf, food and drinks, and several opportunities to win raffle prizes which included a football signed by 2017-2018 Chicago Bears NFL team, a round of golf at Ashland Golf Course, themed baskets, a GoPro camera and much more.

Funds raised at the KVC Kids Classic and several other fundraising events throughout the year make it possible for hundreds of foster families to attend KVC’s Annual Resource Family Conference (RFC) free of charge. The RFC is a weekend-long training opportunity for KVC licensed foster families to hear from guest speakers, network with other foster parents and learn about topics such as helping youth feel safe and connected, promoting healthy brain development and resilience, and partnering with other members of a child and family’s support team.
