KVC Nebraska welcomes the Omaha Street Percussion to the 2015 Resource Family Conference

The Omaha Street Percussion to attend 2015 Resource Family Conference

The Omaha Street Percussion (OSP) will be conducting a workshop at the 2015 RFC for youth 16-18 years old, followed by an interactive performance for all ages.

Short Description:
The Omaha Street Percussion, is a collection of drummers that come together to create a visually appealing, highly energetic form of drumming, using only unorthodox forms of percussion.

Their Mission:
Omaha Street Percussion exists to bring the art of percussion to the public in a way that is tangible, obtainable, and exciting; demonstrated in such a way that promotes education, mentorship, and performance.

Their Purpose:
To create relationships with public and private educational systems, as well as other non-profit entities; existing as a collective of percussion educators that present the art of drumming with the focus on education, performance, and mentorship. Guest performances, workshops, and regularly scheduled programs are our 3 areas of focus.

Their 4 Teaching Principles:
1) Creative Expression: Encouraging individual expression through ones emotions and imagination; to be displayed through the form of percussion.
2) Mentorship: Preparing students for their futures by training, equipping, and influencing in a positive way.
3) Team work: Developing skills of working along side others, with a common goal of creating and demonstrating art.
4) Cognitive Thinking Skills: Challenging each individual in developing the knowledge and understanding to set and achieve goals through experience, repetition, and problem solving.

KVC is extremely excited to have the OSP be apart of such an amazing event. Can’t wait to see the creativity they are sure to bring out in each of the youth!
