Resource Family Conference

Resource Family Conference 2018

What is KVC’s Resource Family Conference?

Every other year, KVC Nebraska hosts 300+ foster parents and families caring for individuals with disabilities through our Shared Living program to spend a FREE weekend at a hotel while participating in trainings, networking activities and fun! While caregivers are in training, youth and clients in care create exciting new memories with developmentally-appropriate activities and field trips under the supervision of 120+ KVC employees and volunteers.

What’s a Resource Family?

Resource families include individuals and families caring for youth experiencing foster care, individuals and families certified as Shared Living Providers who care for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, and the youth and clients KVC serves.

How do donations support this event?

Our community’s generous support allows us to put on this event completely free to charge to the youth, families and individuals we serve. With a donation and/or sponsorship, you strengthen families, create opportunities for caregivers to connect and learn from each other, and encourage kids and individuals with disabilities to have fun.

Each attending family experiences the following free of charge:

  • A 1-night stay at the Cornhusker Marriott in downtown Lincoln, NE
  • Friday night family dinner, carnival & prizes
  • Saturday family breakfast & lunch
  • Full Saturday of caregiver trainings, including a presentation and discussion from a nationally-renowned keynote speaker
  • Full Saturday of youth activities & field trips
