This training is available to foster parents and worth 2.5 CEUs.
KVC Nebraska believes all people matter and can grow through experiencing healthy relationships. In the Mandt System Training, there are several helpful verbal de-escalation tools taught that employees, foster families, and extended family home providers can utilize to encourage safety and connection through effective communication with individuals served, family members, co-workers, friendships, professionals, etc.
The Mandt System trains R.A.D.A.R. as a way to help individuals effectively assess what is going on inside of them, with the people around them, and their environment to impact their decision-making skills and decide to act in a helpful way, instead of depending only on their reactions to the situation. The Mandt System also shows how Maslow’s Hierarchy, a history of Trauma, the Crisis Cycle, and what a person believes can help participants gain even more insight into a person’s behavior, family, their sense of hope, physical and psychological health so they can help resolve conflicts and understand a person’s story.
Childcare is available at all trainings, but foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster Parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
If you are a KVC foster parent, please complete the “KVC AFFILIATE REGISTRATION.” If you are a foster parent with another agency or an industry professional, please complete the “NON-KVC REGISTRATION.”
