Foster Parent Training

Placement Stability training teaches the importance of placement stability for foster children, the stages of disruption, and the legislative history impacting placement stability. 1.5 CEUs.

Objectives: 

  • Define placement stability.
  • Discuss what child welfare legislation says about placement stability.
  • Examine effects on children who have experienced numerous placements.
  • Discuss what information foster parents need in order to make a good decision about having a child come into their home.
  • Discuss stages of placement disruption.

Childcare is available at all trainings, but foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster Parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
