MEPA/ICWA/Cultural Competence Training (Omaha, Neb.)

This training contains information regarding the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), and the Multi-Ethnic Placement Act (MEPA). Definitions, specific guidelines, and examples are included that will allow foster parents to gain knowledge of how these acts impact KVC’s work as an agency and their individual work as a foster parent. Additionally, the importance of following these acts in regards to cultural sensitivity and the preservation of culture is discussed. 1.5 CEUs.

Childcare is available at all trainings, but foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster Parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
