2017 KVC Resource Family Conference
March 31, 2017 - April 1, 2017

KVC Nebraska’s 2017 Resource Family Conference will take place March 31 – April 1 at the Cornhusker, A Marriott Hotel in Lincoln, Neb. This annual event is a one-of-a-kind training opportunity for KVC foster families and, for the first time, this event is open to foster families with other agencies. These families are caring for children who have experienced abuse, neglect or other family challenges and are temporarily in state custody. Resource families, a term which includes foster and adoptive parents and relatives, will learn about topics such as helping youth feel safe and connected, promoting healthy brain development and resilience, and partnering with other members of a child’s support team. Children will enjoy fun activities like games, bouncy houses and talent shows. Learn more about RFC.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg. Dr. Ginsburg is a pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He also serves as Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and is the Director of Health Services at Covenant House Pennsylvania, an agency that serves Philadelphia’s homeless and marginalized youth.
