Want to Be Foster Parent? Start With This Free Online Class
September 14, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

More than 3,000 Nebraska children and teens need foster families to open their hearts and homes. It only takes ONE caring adult to change a child’s life. How about you?
One of the first and most important steps to become a licensed foster or adoptive parent is to complete TIPS-MAPP training (Trauma-Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting). This class prepares you to care for a child who has experienced trauma and helps you build many other skills in your journey to become a foster or adoptive parent. TIPS-MAPP also aids you in determining if fostering or adopting is right for you.
KVC Nebraska offers this virtual course at no cost to you. Classes will be held from 6:00–9:00pm every Monday with the first class taking place September 14, 2020, and the last class taking place November 23, 2020. Class size is limited and new class groups start every 4-6 weeks.
If you’re considering becoming a foster parent with KVC and want to sign up for class, please contact Becki Johnson at (402) 578-3173 or rjjohnson@kvc.org.
