Virtual Safety & Connection through Effective Communication Training for KVC Foster Parents
April 17, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

This virtual Safety & Connection through Effective Communication training is available to prospective foster parents and licensed KVC foster parents. It is worth 2.5 CEUs and will be held virtually, sign up by clicking here or on the button below.
Training Description:
At KVC Nebraska, we believe children and families can grow by experiencing healthy relationships. In the Mandt System Training, there are several helpful verbal de-escalation tools taught that employees, foster families, and Shared Living Providers can utilize to encourage safety and connection through effective communication with individuals served, family members, co-workers, friendships, professionals, etc.
The Mandt System trains R.A.D.A.R. as a way to help individuals effectively assess what is going on inside of them, with the people around them, and their environment to impact their decision-making skills and decide to act in a helpful way, instead of depending only on their reactions to the situation. The Mandt System also shows how Maslow’s Hierarchy, a history of Trauma, the Crisis Cycle, and what a person believes can help participants gain even more insight into a person’s behavior, family, their sense of hope, physical and psychological health so they can help resolve conflicts and understand a person’s story.
