Want to Foster or Adopt? Take the First Step with This Training – Lincoln, NE

September 10, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

More than 3,000 Nebraska children and teens need foster families to open their hearts and homes. It only takes ONE caring adult to change a child’s life. How about you?

One of the first and most important steps to become a licensed foster or adoptive parent is to complete TIPS-MAPP training (Trauma Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting). This class prepares you to care for a child who has experienced trauma and helps you build many other skills in your journey to become a foster or adoptive parent. TIPS-MAPP also aids you in determining if fostering or adopting is right for you.

KVC Nebraska offers this 10-week course at no cost to you. Classes will be held from 5:30-9:30 pm every Tuesday with the first class taking place September 10, 2019, and the last class taking place November 12, 2019. Class size is limited and new class groups start every 4-6 weeks.

If you’re considering becoming a foster parent with KVC and want to sign up for class, please contact Becki Schindler at (402) 578-3173 or rschindler@kvc.org.

If you are already a licensed KVC foster parent, please complete the “KVC AFFILIATE REGISTRATION.” If you are a foster parent licensed with another agency or an industry professional, please complete the “NON-KVC REGISTRATION.”
