2.5 CEUs
KVC Nebraska believes all people matter and can grow through experiencing healthy relationships. In the Mandt System Training, there are several helpful verbal de-escalation tools taught that employees, foster families, and extended family homes can utilize to encourage safety and connection through effective communication with individuals served, family members, co-workers, friendships, professionals, etc.
The Mandt System trains R.A.D.A.R. as a way to help individuals trained to effectively assess what is going on inside of them, with the people around them, and their environment to impact their decision-making skills and decide to act in a helpful way, instead of depending only on their reactions to the situation. The Mandt System also shows how Maslow’s Hierarchy, a history of Trauma, the Crisis Cycle, and what a person believes can help participants gain even more insight into a person’s behavior, family, their sense of hope, and physical and psychological health so they can help resolve conflicts and understand a person’s story.
Childcare is available at all trainings, but foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster Parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
If you are a KVC foster parent or extended family home provider, please complete the “KVC AFFILIATE REGISTRATION.” If you are a foster parent or extended family home provider with another agency or are an industry professional, please complete the “NON-KVC REGISTRATION.”
