ICWA/MEPA/Cultural Competency Training
July 13, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

This training is required for all foster parents each licensure period and worth 2 CEUs.
This class provides information regarding the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and the Multi-Ethnic Placement Act (MEPA). Definitions, specific guidelines, and examples are included that will allow foster parents to gain knowledge of how these Acts impact KVC’s work as an agency and their individual work as a foster parent. Additionally, we’ll discuss the importance of following these Acts in regards to cultural sensitivity and the preservation of culture.
Childcare is available at all trainings, but foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster Parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
If you are a KVC foster parent, please complete the “KVC AFFILIATE REGISTRATION.” If you are a foster parent with another agency or an industry professional, please complete the “NON-KVC REGISTRATION.”
