Child Passenger Safety Training for Foster Parents

This training is available to foster parents and worth 1.5 CEUs.
Child Passenger Safety training provides participants with hands-on instruction on installing child restraints properly, and a discussion on the importance of child passenger safety.
Objectives:
- Hands-on practice with properly installing a child safety seat.
- Understand the importance of checking the crash history of child safety seats.
- Learn to check a child safety seat label and determine appropriateness for each particular child.
- Understand the difference between forward-facing and rear-facing child safety seats, and when to use each type.
Childcare is available at all trainings and foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
