Mental Health Diagnoses and Treatment Training for KVC Foster Parents

This Mental Health Diagnoses and Treatment training is available to KVC foster parents and worth 2 CEUs. For information on how to participate, please email Morgan Schmidt at mschmidt@kvc.org.
In this training, you will learn:
- Know the definition and prevalence of mental illness in the United States.
- Understand the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and who can diagnose an individual or youth.
- Identify prevalent major mental illnesses, diagnoses and their symptoms.
- Be able to reference treatment and psychopharmacology options for major mental illness and other diagnoses.
