SUMMARY:Want to Foster or Adopt? Take the First Step with This Training – Lincoln\, NE
DESCRIPTION:More than 3\,000 Nebraska children and teens need foster families to open their hearts and homes. It only takes ONE caring adult to change a child’s life. How about you? \nOne of the first and most important steps to become a licensed foster or adoptive parent is to complete TIPS-MAPP training (Trauma Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting). This class prepares you to care for a child who has experienced trauma and helps you build many other skills in your journey to become a foster or adoptive parent. TIPS-MAPP also aids you in determining if fostering or adopting is right for you. \nKVC Nebraska offers this 10-week course at no cost to you. Classes will be held from 5:30-8:30 pm every Tuesday and the last class will take place on April 30\, 2019.
