How about you? \nOne of the first and most important steps to become a licensed foster or adoptive parent is to complete TIPS-MAPP training (Trauma Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting). This class prepares you to care for a child who has experienced trauma and helps you build many other skills in your journey to become a foster or adoptive parent. TIPS-MAPP also aids you in determining if fostering or adopting is right for you. \nKVC Nebraska offers this 10-week course at no cost to you. Classes will be held from 5:30-8:30 pm every Tuesday and the last class will take place on April 30\, 2019. In the Mandt System Training\, there are several helpful verbal de-escalation tools taught that employees\, foster families\, and extended family homes can utilize to encourage safety and connection through effective communication with individuals served\, family members\, co-workers\, friendships\, professionals\, etc. \nThe Mandt System trains R.A.D.A.R. as a way to help individuals trained to effectively assess what is going on inside of them\, with the people around them\, and their environment to impact their decision-making skills and decide to act in a helpful way\, instead of depending only on their reactions to the situation. Each attendee will get 6 feet of workspace a goody bag\, free Wi-Fi and meals each day. There will also be door prizes\, raffle prizes and vendors at the event include A Paige 2 Remember and a massage therapist on-site! Registration is $100 per attendee. \nVIP! For $125 VIP guests will not only have access to everything listed above\, but they also will receive the following perks; early bird admittance (3 pm on Friday); a VIP chair; your choice of beverages and snacks; an express meal ticket and extra crafty surprises!
