Youth Peer Support Services

Youth Peer Support Services (YPSS) help children and teens maintain wellness and recovery. YPSS promotes ongoing recovery through the development of a relationship based on shared experience and mutuality between a youth 9-21 years of age and a Peer Support Specialist.

Youth are partnered with a Specialist who has experienced challenges with mental health in the youth services system. A Specialist assists youth in understanding components of recovery and resiliency, and how to apply these skills to achieve life goals. Participants of YPSS will receive individual direct support as well as an opportunity to participate in Peer Support Groups.

This service is provided to youth at no cost.

To participate in YPSS, the youth or parent must meet the following criteria:

  • U.S. resident living in Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy or Washington counties in Nebraska
  • Meet financial eligibility requirements
  • Youth ages 9-21
  • Have a mental health diagnosis
