SUMMARY:Virtual Resource Family Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:KVC Nebraska’s Resource Family Conference is going virtual this year! \nRFC will take place online Saturday\, April 2 from 9:30am to 2:00pm. This event is a one-of-a-kind training opportunity for KVC Nebraska resource families\, non-KVC affiliated resource families and industry professionals. Attendees learn from nationally renowned experts\, receive continuing education trainings\, and network with other resource families in the area to create an invaluable support network. \n\nRegistration is now closed.\nWhat’s a Resource Family?\nResource families include foster parents (individuals and families caring for youth experiencing foster care)\, individuals and families certified as Shared Living Providers who care for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities\, and the youth and clients KVC serves. \nKeynote Speaker: Tonier Cain\n\nTonier Cain works tirelessly to raise awareness about trauma-informed care. She is an advocate and educator\, speaking all over the world on trauma\, addiction\, incarceration\, homelessness\, substance abuse and mental health. Her work has been used as a model in other countries for the establishment of their trauma-informed care protocols. \nShe is C.E.O. and Founder of Tonier Cain International\, Founder and President of Neen Cares\, Inc.\, Founder and C.E.O. of Purposeful Entertainment Production Company. She is an award-winning Film Producer and author.  \nTonier’s methods have proven to be effective\, resulting in numerous awards for her work. She has been honored by two governors\, a mayor and a state attorney with proclamations naming days after her. Tonier uses her life experiences to make a difference for trauma survivors. Through her work\, she continues to transform her own life while helping others to embrace her motto\, “Where there’s breath\, there’s hope.” www.toniercain.com \nKeynote topic: Healing Neen – Tonier Cain\nHealing Neen follows the amazing recovery of Tonier ‘Neen’ Cain from a lifetime of abuse and drug addiction to a career as a nationally-known speaker and educator on the devastation of trauma and the hope of recovery. For 19 nightmarish years\, she lived on the streets\, racking up 66 criminal convictions\, until finally treatment for her trauma offered her a way out and up. Her story points to the consequences of untreated trauma to individuals and society at-large\, including mental health problems\, addiction\, homelessness and incarceration. \nAdditional Speaker: Heather Wright\nHeather is a Senior Workplace Consultant from Gallup and expert on Clifton StrengthsExplorer. Heather will share how Clifton StrengthsExplorer helps kids discover and develop their talents. When kids discover their talents\, it can lead to: resilience and confidence\, productivity and engagement in school\, hope and\, direction for the future. And doesn’t every child deserve to have all of these advantages? \nHeather Wright\n\nHeather Wright\, senior workplace consultant\, supports Gallup clients in achieving their goals through consulting\, analysis and development. Since joining Gallup in 1986\, Heather has led programs on leadership and management development\, employee selection and engagement\, customer engagement\, strengths-based coaching and development\, and entrepreneurial coaching and development.  \nHeather’s mission is to provide leaders with insights that enable them and their organizations to grow.
