DESCRIPTION:National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect\, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families. During the month of April and throughout the year\, communities are encouraged to share child abuse and neglect prevention awareness strategies and activities and promote prevention across the country. \nIn 2015\, Nebraska there were 34\,143 reports of alleged maltreatment to the Child Abuse Hotline. If you know someone who is being maltreated call the Child Abuse & Neglect Hotline at 1-800-652-1999.

SUMMARY:CPR/First Aid Training (Omaha\, Neb.)
DESCRIPTION:The Red Cross- CPR course will meet the following objectives: \n\nUniversal Precautions and the Good Samaritan Law are explained.\nParticipants will learn how to respond to breathing emergencies.\nParticipants will learn and practice the techniques to conduct CPR in the case of a cardiac emergency.\nParticipants will learn how to use an AED.\nParticipants will learn ‘Hands Only CPR.\n\nContact Rachel Garcia for more information or to sign up at rgarcia@kvc.org or 402-880-4926. \n\n  \nChildcare is available at all trainings\, but foster parents must sign-up for childcare prior to each training date. Foster Parents are required to earn 12 hours of CEUs each year of their licensing period (for a total of 24 hours per licensing period).
